Around mid-April, I climbed to the top of Bell Rock for the first time in a very long time. The warm afternoon sunlight shining down welcomed me as it always has. When I was almost at the top, I noticed the blue sky without a spot of cloud between the red rocks standing tall. My heart leapt as though it were the first time I'd ever seen that.

As the sun started down, it stained Courthouse Butte next to Bell Rock with gold. The branches of the pine trees swayed gently in the evening wind. That day, I meditated for a long time at the top of Bell Rock, thinking of the tourists to Sedona that number in the millions. ...
