RIA JAIRAM, N2RJ, first became licensed in ham radio as a secondary school student in her native Trinidad and Tobago. Upon immigrating to the United States, she quickly earned her FCC license at the Extra Class level. Ria has held leadership positions in several amateur radio organizations including the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and Young Ladies Radio League (YLRL). She also hosts a YouTube channel called Ria’s Shack Ham Radio, as well as a weekly radio show, Ria’s Shack Radio, on WTWW shortwave radio.
"Ria Jairam’s technician class study guide is the best study guide book I have read. She makes it easy to follow and learn without an overload of information. This book is way better than the ARRL study book and even a better price. This is the perfect gift for someone looking to get their ham license." —Holly K., KG4WXV, WRMI Legends Radio
"This book is exactly what someone new to ham radio needs to not only pass the test but to gain a decent understanding of amateur radio. Ria is an amazing teacher and author and she breaks things down to make it easier to understand and to understand the “why” behind it. Ria has contributed so much to the community this book just adds to her amazing accomplishments." —Cat “DixieDX,” W4DXY amateur radio operator, YouTube: “DixieDX ham radio”
