That is how I ended up at 330 pounds by 42 years old. Being brought up Greek in the 80’s and 90’s meant you ate dishes with loads of butter, crisco, salt, MSG, and white flour. The meats were high in fat content and many foods were fried in toxic oil. The desserts were high is sugar and there was a ton of bread. Well, at least, that’s how I grew up! In general, olive oil is our top ingredient in almost every dish and vegetable oil is commonly used for fried foods. The more I learned, the more I switched out for myself and my family. Then, about 3 years ago, I learned that olive oil becomes rancid when cooked on high heat. It becomes carcinogenic to our bodies, which means having the potential to grow our cancer cells. We all have those cells, keeping them from multiplying is the key to a long life. DO WE REALLY NEED EXTRA TOXINS THESE DAYS?I knew I had to do something if I wanted to change my health and the potential of my son’s health. I didn’t want family illnesses such as metabolic disorders, diabetes, and heart disease passed down to my son. I also wanted my husband and I to live a long and healthy life. I didn’t just want all of us to be healthy, I wanted us to feel healthy and look healthy FOREVER! So that is where this book comes in. You will love my crazy story!
